The Arc@Work

The Arc@Work

We have partnered with The Enrichment Center to offer a Supported Employment Program in High Point. A paying job is an enormous source of pride and personal independence. Our Employment Program, The Arc@Work provides three distinct avenues for exploring employment opportunities, depending upon the funding streams available.

All persons living with an intellectual or developmental disability may apply for a referral through Vocational Rehabilitation, a Federal program administered individually through each state to provide a full suite of employment services including skills and interests assessments, career exploration, job readiness, skills training, job sampling, on-the-job training, job coaching, and long-term support.

Individuals who currently have Medicaid can receive these same services directly through The Arc@Work through the Innovations Waiver or B3 Services.   An employment specialist helps pair each person with a job that matches his or her skills and interests, then provides on-the-job training and support until the person can perform the job independently.   In each case, services are individualized and delivered at the appropriate pace for the person seeking the job, so the right amount of time is spent where it’s needed until the job candidate is confident to move to the next step.

Employers Benefit, Too

Meeting the needs of our Employment Partners is a top priority. Employers benefit by gaining dependable, hard-working, diverse employees who are trained with the assistance of an Employment Specialist – all at no cost to the Employer. The Employment Specialist works with the Employer to ensure the job is performed successfully from the beginning.
